Good be worried a form of worry can equal to fear if you worry enough and fear is not evil in fact fear shows you your weakness so that you may improve on it... One day Brom I will invite you into my lab so that you may experience your worries first hand and after I am finished you will never fear again. However until then; my interests lie with this assassin I truly cannot wait to bring him into my lab and see what makes him think that attempting to murder me is a good idea....

Im sure you wont have much of a problem, If he attempted to kill you and failed he aint a very skilled assassin. No offence meant to you by that. And you are one weird fucking guy.

If the Assassin is unskilled then that means his mind can be easily . . . . . . Opened. Also weird is nothing more than a word, I assure you I'm not weird but I am. . . Different.

I never stated I was bringing my problem to the council... I stated the assassin will not throw himself to the council and admit his crimes... Also I stated I would deal with it myself, you should listen I have no intentions of including the council in my endeavors. Any support you would have had from me is withheld.

There is no new law. A man's mind is the only thing that is truly their's; use magic to control that, and I will take issue with you man-to-man. If the Council will allow it, I'll also bring anyone who does such things before them to face justice for commiting slavery, which is illegal.

Using magic to read a man's mind is not considered slavery, besides I have already stated that I will not be using magic, though it would be easier and less painful. *shrugs* Oh well. Ah Moroth, I'm happy to see you when you have a moment I would like to speak with you when you have the time to share. However I am in a bit of a befuddlement as to why it is illegal to cast void? According to scrolls, books, and so on Void regardless to what anyone says is actually a natural in it's own way. Now unless I am missing something I would love for someone to enlighten me as to why it is illegal to use Void.

As I understood it, Void is natural, but most Void is cast through Chaos in our current age. If you know how to, or learn to, cast Void without Chaos, then I would imagine the law could be revisited.

Isn't void the absence of all things and the true force of destruction? I can understand why someone would be concerned.

As a wizard myself, I try to avoid void magic as much as possible. It could be called an antithesis to other forms of magic such as my own and saps the strength from a mage's spells. This includes Chaos as well. I have not heard that chaos magic, specifically, is used to call it forth.
While I am far from an expert on the subject, I have heard that nearly any magic source can be used to call it forth, converting it to void. This might even include magic of the Light, though I have no evidence to either proof or disclaim this. I do not believe it to be a natural force, but not evil either. It is simply the absence of magic (including chaos). It can be used to combat chaos just as easily as to assist it.
At the same time, I would advise anyone to take caution when dealing with that particular force. Though, this could simply be a natural aversion I, as a wielder of magic, have for it. It is like a snake, deadly in it's own right, but not evil as such. Just acting as its own nature dictates.

Seeing as Void Magic can be used to counter Chaos I can't help but feel a bit more inclined to actually put more time into researching it... Hm... We shall see.

Well, as the law is written, only casting Void is illegal, so research away. I'd bet my last copper that all manner of mage will be interested in what you find.

Oh I will learn how to use it the law claims I cannot cast it, the only reason why I want to is simply because it can counter Chaos at a higher degree and level. After all I would love to see what effects void has on a shadow binder, or an evil Enthromancer. Regardless if it works well for the town I see no reason why else it cannot be learned.
