It seems that many citizens and businesses have neglected to pay their taxes last moon. You will have until midnight on May 24th to pay them or you will suffer additional fees.

I will be available to collect owed taxes throughout the evening of the 24th,as of sunrise on the 25th unpaid taxes will be considered delinquent.I have maintained a list of individuals who have already submitted payment.
Taxes are 2 silver per person and 25% of profits of businesses, by way of example Sebastian, the local confectionery salesman, will owe a total of 14 Silver and 5 Copper (2 Silver as personal tax and 12 Silver 5 Copper as 25% of the 5 Gold profit he acquired selling his wares.)
If any individuals can not render payment please contact me privately. Whereas I can make no promises as to what the Count will accept I will en devour to to be as accommodating as possible.

In truth, I was present when we told another person, the individual he was conversing with at the time escapes my memory, that he made 5 gold. As his business associate I assumed that you would have been informed by Sebastion, rather than apparently caught unaware in such a public forum. I have recorded and reported his claim of income for taxation purposes and have submitted my records and recommendations to the office of the Count's Factor.

How often do taxes need to be paid? I don't know much about this economy being new to town, but two silver seems like it would be a substantial amount of money to most people. I want to avoid any trouble so I will see what I can do, but so far my merchant business hasn't taken off yet.

T'Char since you are so young and unaware on how business is done I will be nice. He did not make 5 gold boasting how much someone has bought about something is a common sales tactic. Next time talk to me and dont assume anything.
I dont care about your so called "Records submitted" He didnt make that much so is not paying as if he is, based off some random conversations with an unknown person that you overheard.
Frankly this post sounds like a joke and im not amused when it comes to money and business.

Mr. Citanul, I regret the confusion I had no idea that being a merchantman required one to speak and behave dishonestly, as in lying, or as you say boasting, about one's income for example. When next the Count requires taxes to be collected I will not rely on the spoken word to evaluate an individual business' profits and or values as you have said businessmen lie.

If any citizen is somehow incapable of affording the taxes they owe, The Tea Weevil may be willing to offer a bit of financial assistance. We understand that there are members of this town who offer worthwhile skills and contribute to the preservation of our solidarity as a people in a way which may not necessarily translate to direct monetary gain.

Just a little something that hasn't been mentioned about taxes for businesses. I haven't seen the decree but mostly everyone has mentioned the tax on profits. If that's the case then you would only pay taxes after adjusting for expenses of the product.

I have spoken to the Count and have been authorized to accept taxes in the form of trade goods, raw material, and services. The Right Honourable Count does however prefer coinage but, had graciously afforded me the authority to make the decision as to whether an individual needs to make an alternative arrangement. Please feel free to contact me via a private courier or in person Friday evening.
After the brief conversation with Citanul regarding the honesty of merchants, I do not wish any citizen to become indebted to a money lender or merchant in order to afford their taxes

T'Char it is apparent we will never be able to get along. The way you speak is ignorant. I hope your friends realize what this will end with im not sure that they are all ok with this hostile relationship you seek.

I am confused as to why you accuse me of being hostile. I have only interpolated based upon your own statements.
I do apologize for any ignorance with witch I am afflicted, that is the very reason I surround myself with those more versed in corporal affairs.
I can assure you that I do not actively seek hostile relationships and I do hope that your comment was not a threat.

T'Char the Traveler Let it be known that my offer stands and will not be treated as a formal loan of any sort, but rather as a gesture of good will from one citizen of our small community to another.

It can absolutely be considered a threat if you want. Or you can consider it a warning that the way your talking will further this issue.
