A serious inquiry, why is Valdarin's Gate separated into the elves' town, and the risen fist's part of town? I understand we all have different things that make us different. I understand that people argue, and people don't always get along. But isn't it better to all come together and try to solve our problems together. I don't understand why we cant have different views but stand together as a town. Information should be shared, problems should be shared, rescores should be shared. We are a town and we should solve our problems as a town and we should celebrate our victories as a town. I shouldn't have to hear about someone wont come to someones aid because someone is a member of some place that we don't agree with, or has some political view that we don't agree with. Isnt most peoples goal in town to help other people? Why cant we all just get along?

Last gathering, steps were made to remove the distrust between the factions of Valdarin's Gate. Being a whole has proven through out history to be near impossible. Even the Kingdom of Kyranthia, that stood unified against the Shadow Lord, separates the different races into provinces. Separate, but equal districts consensually under Viscount Devos and the King's Law will do more good.
Cooperation between races and factions must hold precedence. The "Elven District" rose to the defense of the Heroes Quarter and Risen Fist when Throck Vul Doon ravaged the Gate, just as they did when Gideon's time has come. Asking for any more than cooperation from the citizens of the Gate would only cause tension.

Risen Fist not part Valdarin's Gate. Risen Fist maintains lodge as per Treaty with their Valdarin's Gate allies, not claim ownership on lands not their own. Trust takes time to build, and is only as strong what it is built of and built upon. Much has been done to harm trust, will take time to rebuild.
Deeds speak louder than words, intentions are good; actions better. If you desire trust and cooperation between tribes; make it so.
May your strength and courage never falter, your death be honorable, and your legacy long. Warchief Mugthar of the Risen Fist Tribe

Bilge confused by this question- who has refused to help- if cry from desert rose comes within ear, Bilge honors treaty and comes running with useful potion or spell, Bilge would say same of any from Risen Fist, Hero's Quarter or Elf Town, Leatherface shares knowledge with all, Mak'ton heals any in need, Brom defends all with honorable might, Bilge has even stood besides Ulrich and lesser trusted peoples when dark forces have risen against us. We have different homes because our ways our different, if someone no think we do enough to help or to defend or to share each other let know how.

Cosin Bilge - do not forget Calendra is hobgoblin now. More trickery den peace-maker. She could be just stirring de pot. Eef she make people tink de neighbor won't help in time of troble, den there is more strife and hobgoblins like strife.
Dis is why Bilge dos not understand question, because Bilge would not understand why hobgoblin would stir de pot. Poor Bilge. I hope you do not learn about hobgoblins de hard way, like I deed.
You come see me soon, yes? I need some 'elp, de mana potions all acting funny and not working.

As the Warchief said,we do not claim Valdarin's Gate land for we have treaty pledge with them. It is not our desire to see the Gate ruined or fall. and I see now more clearly than ever why Z says you're not of purist blood for your knife ear heritage is shining brightly. When you raise doubt of us and the others around you,When you suggest we of the Risen Fist relegate our selves to being subservient to any other. For the Risen Fist is the equal of all an that is something that I will never YIELD on.

Dear Calendria,
I believe the understanding of the situation has mostly been conveyed here already. But I also believe that I might be able to distill an explanation for you. The history of mistrust and tension in Valdarin's Gate is largely a matter of hurt pride, the arrogance of many involved (myself included), and severe political disagreements. The power vaccuum in the absence of the previous Mayor left many believing that there was a right and wrong way to officiate business in town, but there has never been a true consensus. Several brave individuals thought that they could hold the position of mayor or town council, but each found that someone could not trust them and hurtful accusations and slander were made. What's more the town began to split over disagreements about how the town should be run and who they could trust to run it.
In short it is my assessment that the town of Valdarin's Gate was split over political disagreements and lines of distrust; one group believing that the other was making a grab for power. I assume that nearly every person involved had good intentions for the town and even for their neighbors, but everyone got caught up in the blame game and everyone thought they were on the side of the good and the righteous. Unfortunately outside the pages of a storybook, good and evil are difficult to define.
Now that we all have a leader appointed by the Royal line, Viscount Devos (pronounced Vai-count Day-vohs), it has become apparent to me that the vast majority of townsfolk are ready to let him take the lead and get on with their own business. I could not be happier. Although we will all still disagree about the best way to do something, I believe it will now simply result in nothing more than petty grudges and fistfights, as opposed to the full-out armed aggression that it nearly became. As a result, Ostar Sidhe (The Elven District) is no longer politically separated from Valdarin's Gate. We follow the same law. Our residents often have a different way of approaching any given problem, but we now agree on most matters of the political.
I hope that explains some things for you and if you have any more questions I would be happy to fill you in.
Warm Regards, Alan Shallowmoore

I felt a need to comment but I feel the question has already been answered in full. On an off topic note, who's idea was it to attack the Kraza thull Orcs?

I am under the assumption that Throck Vul Doon's blood was still heated after breaking the undead blockade and attacked what was most readily available to him, us. Assault & murder is illegal under the King's law, though him being what he is, he may be excused from blame. Aggression is, after all, in his nature.

Bilge remembers like Vallon does, Orc warriors were excited after good victories, sometimes Orcs just want to continue to have victories.

Enough! What will it take to get everyone to reunite under the gate as one? I know the gate is having problems. All these splinter factions are embarrassing. For once, I may have to come out of hiding from my store and actually show everyone what it takes to reunite the town. Talk is cheap, action is much stronger. If it costs my life to reunite this town, I will do it with honor for the King Teros Montell. Apparently, nobody is a leader in the gate or outside of it. You want to do all these things to better yourselves and yet not take any responsibility for your actions. In the event the King does come back, I will take the blame for the division of the gate and for attacking the Orcs of Kraza Thull. We do not need to pick any more fights, we are already taking on more than what can be handled. In the mean time, everyone here needs to think about how to reunite the gate.

Risen fist agreed to be separate from gate but will do all it can to fight with and defend, Elves of Oyster Side also stand with gate. Count Devos and respect for his rule is what unites us all, no need to have Dragon Pants die an embarrassing death, Bilge not even sure what that do for Gate.

Let me rephrase this. I appreciate the help we received when the town needed to rid itself of Gideon, demons, things of that nature. But I do not like how the town is divided. It really breaks my heart. I know that I can be selfish and greedy, I am. I am working on changing my ways. But I actually want to help out the town and I think the best way is to continue standing up to threats together. Also we really could do without executions from the King. We have done more good than harm. However, we still committed crimes as a whole town. The punishment is usually death if I am not mistaken. Do you really think the King is going to come back and say "Good job everyone. I like how divided our beloved gate is. You are all doing such a wonderful thing for me. Keep it up." I think if we clear ourselves and disband all these splinter factions, we will be much better off as a whole. This is not about me trying to clear myself for my own selfish desires. This is my pure interest, to help the gate. To restore the gate to its former glory.
If we elected a mayor again, that would be good. A mayor should not have a position of power in the gate. A mayor should be able to report all information, problems, questions, inquiries of the gate directly to the King. This will put us in way better standing than the position we are in now. I mean, I just offered to die for the gate, what more do you want me to do?

Risen Fist only group not part of gate, that because Risen fist need to be larger than gate. Risen Fist will better the lives of all Orcs, Goblins, Hobgoblins make them no longer need to raid or steal and make life better for pale skins as result. Peoples live in different parts of town, not because we no like each other but because some no understand different ways. Is impossible to not have different parts of town in town growing so large, Bilge is sorry if this make Sebastian sad, mayor no seem like good idea, last elf who became mayor left one moon and no return since.

Bilge, you are a good friend of the Desert Rose. However, I am being serious. The Gate needs to get back together. I am willing to work with Risen Fist, Ostar Sidhe and the rest of the town. But not divided. I fail to see why differences cannot be put aside. If people want to continue existing in splinter factions, fine. Go right ahead. I just cannot promise that if the King comes back, that he will be as forgiving as me. I forgive everyone and I realized that not enough was done on my part to prevent the splintering of the Gate. So for that, I apologize.
