Mugthar sits in the Drunken Dragon Tavern, his massive brow still unfimilar to some is locked into an intense focus. Its not just his face that is different, the tusks that jut from his lower jaw are far thicker and more prominant than his previous scowls would show. His attire too, while still adorned in his usual mail, plate and fur if anything seems to be accumulating more adornments: various pelts, leather thongs, furs, and a thick breastplate now mark his appearence. He sits still, fingering the hilt of white blade of the ancient palladin long slain. It glows with a gentle white light as his fingers gently caress the smooth grip. The Orc sits up suddenly and turns towards any nearby.
"I warrior mighty and true, I know how to swing a blade to cleave my foes in twain, I know when to rush a shield wall, or when to call in reserves to the vanguard, I know when a fight is lost and when losses must be cut. These things knows well, but find what really need know is unknown to Mugthar. Many of you may know some or all of what is needed. Who is Lich? What have do Langley? Lich not serve Shadow, but undead, what this mean? How Dark Fae involved? Why Lich want Valdarin's Gate? How can Lich be hurt or destroyed? How does T'char's exploits come into story?..."
Mugthar doesn't hide a disaproving scowl when he states the last reason.
"Anyone know answers to what I ask? Not just I who should know, all in Valdarin's Gate should learn answers I seek."

:Citanul limps into the tavern while Mugthar sits there speaking to anyone who will listen: "T'Char is the Lyche's Phylactery and is trying to take his place since the mark is turning him. There is more in depth information but I dont feel like talking about everything here though"
:Citanul sits at the table with Mugthar: "I have sat on quite a bit of information about alot of things for to long. I think its time I acted on some stuff. Just dont know what is the most pressing matter"

Mugthar's massive brow wrinkles in disaproval
"T'char say he assist Lyche unwittingly, never say take his place. This is what evil markings on face means? Can markings be removed? Or must he be slain lest he too become Lyche? For most pressing matter, army of the dead raised by Lyche and led by Dark Fae that has Valdarin's Gate cut off from outside suffice?"

** A letter posted on the tavern door** Friends and Citizens of Valderan's Gate, I regret that I can not answer these questions in person, respond to these accusations in person, nor defend myself from these slanderous comments in person as Moroth and I are currently studying in the High Tower of Wizardry over the winter months. A dear friend of mine has however brought this conversation to my attention, so I thought it best to scribe this correspondence.
Though the Liche is a constant torment for me I do not know of his origin nor his original identity, despite my continued efforts to uncover this information.
On the matter of poor Langley, he is or was kin to the Liche, a cousin I believe, who had at one point in his existence swore fealty to the Liche and was rewarded for his service by becoming the twisted creature he is now. Langley lives in a state of constant mental and physical torment inflicted upon him by the Liche and deserve our compassion and pity.
It is my belief that the Liche does not nessesarily serve the Shadow Lord as the Liche serves only his own interest. It was the creature known as Gideon who first postulated that the Liche does not serve the Shadow and it was Gideon who manipulated me into convincing the town to trap the Liche with the shadow worm, this only served to create a conduit from the Liche to the Shadow Lord, though which the Shadow Lord was able to leech the powers from the Liche to augment his own already formidable strength.
The Dark Fae are an ancient, inscrutable race; much like the Dragons or the Grigori. They keep their own consul and abide by their own ancient code of rules and laws. The Dark Fae released the Liche from the imprisonment which we as a town placed him in. They did this because they sought tribute in our town, any gifts that people could have given no matter how great or how small. Had everyone in Valderan's Gate given the Fae gifts or tribute then they would have moved on however not everyone did. This violated ancient laws, which in turn forced their hand to enact revenge on the town as a whole. I do not believe they are truly in alliance with the Liche rather they are seizing upon his presence as an opportunity to fulfill their ancient contract.
The Liche is in Valderan's Gate because I broke his prison. I was not alone, though I was not with the Elves when his happened. I will not name who was with me because I was the most knowledgeable person present and I allowed my curiosity to overpower my judgement. I must again state I take responsibility for the accident and will not identify who was with me at the time.
As far as how to harm the Liche, I do not know, again despite researching the matter extensively since his first emergence. I continue to search for these answers, though my quest has been derailed by continuous accusations from all corners.
I am particularly saddened by Citanual's blatant lies and deception. When last I spoke to Citanual I told him all I knew about my situation and he has lied to you all.I will tell you that yes the Liche has been harming me. The black veins and cracks on my skin are the ever spreading scars of the Liche's violation of my body. I do not seek to become a Liche such would be anathema to my very principles, and in fact the suffering I have been enduring because of the Liche's most foul violation of my body is not the path one must take to become a Liche. In addition I have not been "turning" because of the marks upon my flesh, it would appear that Citanual is far more comfortable casting aspersions and accusation at the victim of a violation rather than the perpetrator.
I have attempted to allow my actions to speak for themselves; conducting the ritual to rid the land of the tainted pillars of magic, organizing the ritual to weaken the corrupted paladin, Mak'ton and I making potions and distributing them free of charge to cure the diseases afflicting townsfolk as well as many others but it would seem that it is not enough. So as Lily would say it is time to put the cards on the table, full disclosure of what I know: I have often said that I do not process memories previous to Lily discovering me in the Smolder Fields..I have recently begun to uncover memories some of which are of events that I participated in over 12,000 years ago. I have memories of falling through the stars of a sense of great loss and of great hope, I know that I have a purpose to aid not just the people of Valderan's Gate but of the world. I have fallen from paradise but, I do so out of love for the people of this world. I told Citanual of this and he chose to rather than keep my confidence and trust which I showed in him attempt to turn the people of Valerdan's Gate against me.
I seek to restore Lyanna, my Goddess, the Lady of Magic she who birthed magic into this world and through whom my people were elevated to become watchers and to provide the Mystic Force to the world. She is imprisoned by the ever spreading tendrils of the Shadow Lord. I recently discover prophesies and ancient lore while in the Library at the High Tower one for told of Lyanna the other warned of man's susceptibility to the corruption of the Shadow Lord. I shared this knowledge with Citanual, he chose to instead twist the prophesies and spread lies and claim that I seek to waken a Goddess to kill mankind.
I resigned the position of Mayor because too many townsfolk were upset with my holding that position. I chose to instead focus my attention on matters spiritual and mystical, and yet still I come under assault.
Full disclosure, Citanual has met in secret with the Shadow Binder Gideon. Full disclosure, when we as a town first sturck down the Liche, Citanual and his men remained behind and pleaded with the Liche's minions stating over and over that they were on HIS side and that they had made a deal with him. I do not lay claim as to knowledge as to why Citanual is in league with Shadow Binders and Liche's but, I am not the enemy. The enemy is indeed among us and it is the one who has been clumsily attempting to manipulate every resident of the town to his own machinations.
So no manipulations, no obfuscations, just the truth. It is time that we all step into the light.
T'Char the Traveler, Seeker of Lyanna [/div]

Mugthar looks in amazement as the letter magically materializes on the door "One day not be surprised at magicks of those learned in arcane... uh some read letter to Mugthar?"
Mugthar listenes attentively as someone reads the letter aloud for the illiterate Orc's benefit.
"Whenether truth is yours Citanul or T'char's; must come out. Citanul if you know so much, why not speak of it? By not Citanul sounds dishonest or deceitful. I know not who speaks true, but want it to be unveiled and soon. I want face true enemies in open arms, Mugthar reserving judgement on issue, confident he who speaks true can and will prove self"
"Anyone have anything say on matters? Confirm anyone's words or speak against them? Matters of Lyche? Or T'char?"

Mugthar, i know i have not been the most honest or trustworthy man in Valdarin's Gate but if you never believe a word i say just believe me when i say Citanul and his men are evil. Me and another citizen witnessed with our own two eyes Citanul's men and Galadhwen consorting with Gideon privately up at their cabin. DO NOT LET THEM TAINT THE AIR WITH THEIR LIES. If Citanul and his men are left unchecked they will spell the distruction of this town and all who reside within.

Mugthar looks with open amazment at the responce he recieves and the person who speaks them. When Mugthar responds real anger creeps into his voice and he physically tightens as he speaks.
"Ulrich you finally admit truth, you not to be trusted; dishonest, dishonorable, greedy, coward. I am glad you ready to realize this, because this truth I will not consider single word you have say in matter. Anything to come from your mouth less value than dirt on my boot. Why should believe ANY word you say when you openly admit to your dishonesty?!"
Mugthar pauses for a moment before continuing
"Even if everything you say true, I not even consider until come from real source. Your lack of integrity aside, you openly resent Citanul for you and Klovathian the coward's humilation at his hands. I not too blind to this fact. I said, I reserve judgment because Citanul earned my trust, I gave chance you earn as well. You spat on my offered hand and potential forgiveness, and instead earned my contempt. Apease me not, take your dishonorable tongue and spread your lies elsewhere."

Mugthar looks up with confusion at Shallowmoore slipping outside "Why you go? I not hurt this fool, but I not abide his foolishness in grave matter. Only seek answers to questions asked, in dire bussiness to us all"

Vallon stands violently from his seat near Citanul.
"Tell me Ulrich, why should any man believe a word that you say? By reputation and by your own mouth you condemn your honesty. We all know Galadhwen as a soldier of honor, ask her who was there. You'll be disappointed with the answer I'm sure. We spoke with her, yes, but I am no more guilty than you are in this regard. I don't blame your misguided hatred. It's usually a result of imbecility."
Making an obvious hand gesture at Ulrich.
"A trait that a few unlucky men are cursed with."

*Ciro briefly scans T'Char's bulletin posting*
I did not read this in its entirety, however: T'Char is a liar; I freed the Lich. I freed the Lich with the aid of Ulrich. In fact, in a regrettable bout of cowardice, I nearly didn't go through with it. It was at Ulrich's charismatic behest that I soldiered on. You could say, sincerely, that if it were not for Ulrich, the Lich would still be imprisoned.
Additionally, I'm not entirely convinced that Ulrich is... living. This is merely an observation based upon his scent, as well as the fact that he once conceded to the notion, in private, stating, "I, Ulrich, am undead." Which, to me, is suspect.

Love the picture Ril'l. Now I don't really know anything about these litch or fey or anything, but I would like to note that if anyone finds any interesting components while dealing with these issues that might be used in the construction of weapons or armor, bring them to me and I'll offer you a fair price. I have a feeling litch bone armor and weapons might be tainted by some darkness of coarse and therefore be unusable as any form of equipment. Best regards ~Thoradus Copperware

Mugthar rolls his eyes dismissively at Ulrichs comments but otherwise turns his back to the man acknoledging his presence no further. He looks back and forth from Ciro and Vallon and gives them a stern glare.
"This not time, take disagreement elsewhere or fight later. I want answers to real threat, truth about T'char can wait. Simply want to hear connection Lich so find way kill monster. This is what need be discussed, information on matter at hand. T'char's letter most open source thus far, if anyone know more or different that what want hear. Not time for fight between us-"
Mugthar also gives Copperware a dissaproving look "-or selling our wares, we not defeat Lych none of that even matter"
The Orc looks over at the picture drawn by the whimsical elf with blue hair that Mugthar used to associate with her name as Copperware comments on it, and gives it a long stare, his hard eyes twinkle as he does. "Mugthar is no puppet, he bows to no one. To imply such is dishonor to my name, say what you will of Citanul's deeds as he does of T'char's; but say not that I puppet or fool. I speak truth and ask recieve it in kind, as said truth of matter will come out in time; actions then."
